My name is Jessie Feinstein, and I am a freshman at Lehigh University. I am interested in Economics, Marketing, Public Relations, and sharing my life with social media. Specifically, I have a passion for creativity; I love thinking outside the box and developing new ideas! I love hanging out with friends, trying new desserts, online shopping, and taking naps! I have three siblings: two brothers and a sister.  I am the third, I have an older sister and brother, and then a younger brother as well. I hope to work in the business world after college, either in Marketing or Public Relations!

My Life with Social Media: A Personal Experience

As much as I try to tell myself otherwise, I spend much of my free time on social media! TikTok is explicitly a platform I use frequently, whether I'm watching my friends' posts or scrolling through my for you page. Aside from TikTok, I love communicating with my friends via Snapchat, and I also love Instagram! I have had social media since I was in sixth or seventh grade.

However, it seems as if time goes on, the age in which people start getting social media just keeps getting younger and younger. In my opinion, children should not be exposed to social media until they are at least in middle school. When I first got social media, I used it to create fun posts of myself and utilize the different filters on Snapchat! Now I definitely use it multipurposefully; such as for education, entertainment, communication, or as a coping mechanism. Regardless, as most would agree, I think there are major pros as well as major cons to social media.

TikTok and My Life with Social Media

• TikTok is an outlet for me.

• Personally, I am not a big poster on TikTok, but when it comes to scrolling on it, I can spend hours.

• Humorous, relatable, and informative--- to me, TikTok checks off all the boxes.

• That being said, whether I need a distraction from my school work, need to relieve some boredom, or just want a laugh, it always comes back to TikTok

• Lately, I have learned how TikTok can be used from a professional lens, to help promote a business or learn more in regards to powerful marketing tools.

• I now understand how it can help grow a business, connect with audiences, and share valuable content effectively and look forward to using TikTok to do so!

Conclusion

I am really looking forward to broadening my knowledge of the social media and business world through my internship with Sarah's Social Strategy.
